About Wise & Wild Psyche

When naming my counselling practice, I chose words that resonated deeply with my approach to self-discovery and healing.
Here’s how each word reflects the values of my practice:

  • Psyche: From the Greek, meaning both soul /spirit, and mind. In our dualistic culture, these concepts are often treated as separate, but in ancient understanding, they were unified. In my work with clients, I seek to maintain an awareness of the interrelation between the two, as it allows me to have a deeper understanding of human nature.

  • Wild: From the Old English, meaning free, self-willed, or untamed. In a society that often tells us how we “should” be, I invite clients to rediscover their natural, authentic selves. Reengage with our “wild” selves can bring us closer to who we truly are, untouched by external expectations.

  • Wise: Rooted in the Old English, meaning to see clearly or understand deeply. Wisdom, as an embrace of deeper truths and intuitive awareness, is a central principle in my counselling practice, as it reflects my view that it lies within each of us, even when we feel lost and it seems impossible to tap into it.

I believe there is wisdom in expressing the wildness within us: acknowledging both the “wise” and the “wild” within ourselves creates space for a counselling journey that blends inner insight with a liberated, intuitive, and creative exploration. This union of mind and life-force energy fosters a deeper connection to our true selves, allowing us to integrate rational and emotional understanding.

If you are someone who is drawn to introspection, feels a need to express yourself freely, and are seeking a path beyond conventional talk therapy—one that embraces body, mind and spirit with depth and authenticity—you may be in the right place.
